8th Kua Bu Dance Showcase

September 15, 2011 at 2:00 pm

Dance performances are often an experience to watch, especially when a skilled dancer is performing. Dance is a medium that expresses without words, using the movements of the body as ways to convey a message or idea. As such, a dance performance is able to invoke very different responses in the people who watch it, and unlike something that is written in words, it is not necessary for the dance to actually have a message at all.

Just A Dream

September 13, 2011 at 2:00 pm

Environmentally friendly issues, which are known as Green issues, are gaining popularity in Malaysia. While there may be a lot of skeptics in America about global warming and human impact on the environment, Malaysians in general do believe that we humans have a responsibility to the environment that we live in. As such, there are now a number of green policies that are pursued not only on a national level but also at grassroots level, including no plastic bags days and an emphasis on reduce, reuse and recycle. Educating the younger generation of course, remains a vital key in ensuring that whatever changes that are made will continue to be built on and expanded in the future.

In light of this ,the Singapore Repertory Theatre, one of the leading theatre groups in the region, in association with Adventure Theatre Washington DC, will be presenting a play about how the young can go green, so to speak, and do their part to save the planet this September. The play is entitled Just A Dream – The Green Play and follows the antics of a young boy named Walter who is indifferent towards the environment. That all changes when he has a dream one night about how life will be for him in the future. The play, which was designed for younger audiences, is recommended for 4 to 10 year olds, although all of us, both young and old, could learn a thing or two about how how we can help preserve and protect this planet we live in.

Just A Dream - The Green Play
