Sarawak unveils new multicoloured tourism logo

Sarawak Tourism Board has unveiled a new tourism logo and tagline ahead of the launch of its Visit Sarawak campaign for 2019, with aims to increase visitor arrivals to five million by the end of next year.

Launched in two key markets, in West Malaysia and Singapore, the multicoloured logo was designed to bring across “fun and friendliness” while “representing the warm hospitality of the state”.

Five million target set for 2019

KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak is targeting the arrival of five million tourists in 2019 following the launch of the Visit Sarawak logo. State Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the estimate is the same as in 2017.

“Last year, we targeted five million as well but we achieved 4.85 million tourists visiting Sarawak. This year our target is actually 5.2 million tourists and as at September, we have hit more than three million tourists. Hopefully more will be coming during the school holidays and later in the year,” he told reporters after launching the Visit Sarawak logo here.

STB unveils ‘Visit Sarawak’ logo in Singapore

SINGAPORE: Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) has unveiled the Visit Sarawak Campaign (VSC) logo, ahead of its official launch scheduled for this December.

The unveiling ceremony of the campaign’s official anchor emblem took place during an industry event here on Thursday night – the first time that this had ever been done outside Malaysia.

According to Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin, the VSC is envisioned to place Sarawak as one of the preferred tourism destinations in Southeast Asia.

Sarawak to woo Middle Eastern visitors

KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak is seeking to tap the Middle Eastern market as Visit Sarawak begins in earnest in January next year.

Sarawak Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said this will be the state’s target group as it aims to meet the target of five million tourists set for next year.

 

Sarawak Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah wants Middle Eastern tourists to explore beyond Kuala Lumpur.
