Kila Senggigi Beach Hotel at Senggigi beach, Lombok island

Kila Senggigi Beach Resort (S8.49782, E116.04846) is located at the northwest of Lombok island. The resort just situated next to the beautiful beach as the name of it.

The check-in process was smooth and everyone got their keys in less than 15 minutes.

There are many water features at the lobby and beautiful garden surrounding…with beautiful lush tropical gardens and a magnificent view.

The friendly staffs of the hotel were welcome us, the lobby area was nice with a open concept and well ventilated. Decorated with the Lombok culture design…

Kila Senggigi Beach Hotel is actually a resort type of hotel, located in Senggigi town, on a 12 acres land along the beach, beautiful.

Most of the rooms are chalet type, basically 8 rooms in one chalet…situated in spacious manicured gardens with plenty of shade trees. The grounds are absolutely immaculate.

We had a double beds room, and let me show you around the room…

The room albeit dated, size-wise was adequate with necessary furnishing, satisfied with it especially the cleanness. Every room has its own verandah with comfort sitting area, we were enjoying our beer and chatting session on the first night.
It’s advise to choose the 2nd floor if you going for the sea view room, brilliant views from the room and Mt Agung over in Bali is visible.
Remember :-
Don’t leave your room door open after six p.m., unless you don’t mind a generous spray of insecticide in your room which the hotel graciously offers each evening.

Kila Senggigi beach hotel is an old hotel, first in Lombok, surrounded by greeneries and right at the seafront. Wi-Fi service is available throughout the whole resort with good bandwidth. The Italian restaurant is just sitting on the beach front and you can enjoy the spectacular sunset of Lombok accompany with the house’s live band. The SPA also available but too bad we don’t have enough time to enjoy it. The breakfast was good, so was the ala carte food served by the friendly and helpful staffs and good service.

If you are photography enthusiast, you can have a chance to take the milky way during the midnight at the dark beach area.

All-in-all, Kila Senggigi beach hotel is a nice and comfortable place to stay with, recommended.

Eastin Hotel Penang (N5.33657 E100.30635) is located along the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Highway in Sungai Nibong, Penang Island. The area is really convenience because the huge Queensbay Shopping Mall is just sitting next to it, and I also noticed there’s a 24 hours convenience shop behind the hotel.

We (me and Robin) were in Penang for 2 days 1 night foods hunting trip. Once we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted by their friendly smiles from the door till the front counter. The reception area is spacious and be able to cater more peoples during the peak hour.
Our checking process was fast and simple…

Thanks to the warm hospitality from Ms Selene Yeap – Assistant Marketing Communications Manager and her colleague. She introduced us the area surround with her professionalism and her ‘trademark smile’.

They have a live band performance during the evening session…if you are visit on the Ladies night every Wednesday, the lady will get a free Margarita or Daiquiri who accompanied by a guy, beside this…the Buy 3 Free 1 House Wine is available daily from 6pm – 11pm.

And on the right side is the restaurant – Swez Brasserie where the hotel guests having their breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The bathroom has a glass where you can see each other from the bedroom, well…there’s a curtain in between…

The room has a magnificent view from the windows, the Pulau Jerejak is clearly appeared. The Queensbay Mall is situated at the right side from the room’s window…

The room was spacious and it has another small bathroom beside the living hall area. We were satisfied with the room included the amenities services.

After a short while rest in the afternoon, we join their Ramadan buffet dinner in the evening at Swez Brasserie.

The buffet dinner was Full of varieties! The Chef introduced us their Nice beef bones – Gear Box.

After looking at so many foods around, I chose mine…

The buffet dinner was nice and satisfied. We were overloaded again! 🙂

The staffs here were really friendly and we felt comfort with their smile, it was a Nice stayed with the Eastin Hotel Penang, I will dropby again if I’m happen to be around at that area.

This usually leads to high roaming charges when they are using their own telco. Calling via Skype is free, but not every traveler has access to Wi-Fi or 3G or has a smartphone and/or carries along a laptop/tablet. This article describes a way to make cheap international calls with phone cards while traveling. A phone card is a product designed to connect you to local and international destinations at significantly lower rates. When you use a phone card, you’re using a special access number to call anyone, anywhere in the world.

The cheapest way to use a phone card is by buying a local prepaid sim card first in the country you are residing, with that sim card you use the phone card. If you use your own telco, you might still end up paying high roaming charges to your own phone company, while you only have to top up a Malaysian prepaid sim card once to be able to call with a phone card.

Popular Malaysian prepaid telcos are Hotlink, Umobile, TuneTalk and Celcom. All of them offer cheap prepaid sim cards. Usually starting costs range from RM5 to RM20 (only a few USD). They come with 3G (speeds vary, but usually fast enough for regular browsing with 1mbps to 4mbps). Obviously you can simply use this prepaid sim to make local calls, but international calls are usually very expensive.

In other countries this might not be the case and results in slightly higher prices when you are calling mobile phone lines. Each country has their own calling rates. If you are traveling through numerous countries in Southeast Asia (or everywhere in the world for that matter) you can simply add a new phone card for each country. You can even move balance from one phone card to the other.

Smartphone users can use the special NobelDialer, which is available to iPhone, Android and BlackBerry users. With this dialer it gets even more easy to call abroad with your phone card.
