It is that time of a year again where fans of yacht racing group to Langkawi in Kedah to locate a premier sailing eventuality of Asia, a Royal Langkawi International Regatta. This eventuality will start on 9th Jan and will go on until 14th Jan 2012. This year outlines a 10th regatta to be organized by a Royal Langkawi Yacht Club given it started in 2003. Langkawi will also be a horde once again for a many opposite classes of competition, including a Racing Class, IRC Class, Sports Boat, Multihull, Club Cruising and Ocean Rover.
This year’s competition will be preceded by a curtain-raiser, a Ao Chalong – Langkawi ‘Champagne Run’ that will flog off on 7th Jan 2012 from Ao Chalong Yacht Club, Ao Chalong Bay in Phuket, Thailand to Telaga Harbour in Langkawi, Kedah. The teams that will be competing in this year’s regatta will be opposed for a Prime Minister’s Challenge Trophy (for participants of internationally purebred yachts), a Commodore’s Challenge Cup (for participants of club-registered cruisers), a LADA-IRC Challenge Trophy (for participants of a IRC 1 Class), a Langkawi Sports Trophy (for participants in a Sports Boat Class) and a Malaysian Multihull Challenge Cup (for participants underneath a Multihull category).
