This building was occupied by the Melaka Historical City
Municipal Council before being taken over by the Museum Corporation (PERZIM).
The Museum is located on the 1st floor and was officially declared open by the
Prime Minister of Malaysia on April 15, 1992.

The Melaka Art Gallery is located at Jalan Laksamana, Bandar
Hilir. The gallery displays various artworks of local and foreign
artist. The Melaka Art Gallery is also known as the PERZIM Art Gallery.
