It’s that time of the year again!

Sale, Sale, Sale….!

From 15 June to 2 September  ( a total of 11 weeks!) the whole country will have bargains galore for visitors with a string of promotions and tempting discounts.

The official launch was recently held at Sunway Pyramid Ice Skating Rink at Bandar Sunway in Selangor by Tourism Minister, Dato’ Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen.

For those who enjoy looking for great deals, this is the time to visit Malaysia and indulge. Since the sale also coincides with the upcoming Ramadan month, Aidilfitri festivities and the 1Malaysia Contemporary Art Festival (1MCAT) visitors and locals alike will be spoilt for choice.

Moreover,  the abolishment of duties by the Government on various items, has also encouraged duty free shopping in Malaysia. These include goods such as cameras, sports equipment, footwear, and jewellery.

One great place to search for bargains is the recently opened Johor Premium Outlets, launched in December 2011. It is the first in the South East Asian region, under the Premium Outlet Franchise. The outlets has 80 outlet stores, with designer and brand names in a 175,000 square feet area.

Besides this, there are the malls in and around the country in the various states also offering great discounts. More Premium Outlets to be opened soon

JOHOR BARU: Two more Premium Outlets will be opened after the opening of the Johor Premium Outlets, Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen said. She said the opening of more Premium Outlets would contribute to the economy, as well as attract more tourists to do their shopping here.

“We will open more Premium Outlets in Sepang and Malacca,” she said after visiting the Johor Premium Outlets here yesterday. “With the opening of more Premium Outlets, we hope spending will increase from the present 30 per cent.” Bernama
