PLANE IN THE CITY

It is indeed true that people go to restaurants not just for the food but also for the ambience. A wonderful atmosphere and tasty food are a lethal combination for people who are out to have an immersive dining experience. However, restaurants with wonderful ambience are a dime a dozen in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. So, why don’t we go out hunting for a unique dining experience instead, you know the kind that will take us a bit out of our comfort zone?

Actually, I have found at least one in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It calls itself “Plane in the City,” where patrons of the restaurant get to enjoy a unique 90-minute experience dining in a grounded Boeing 737 aircraft.

I believe this is a wonderful concept of a restaurant for those who’s afraid of flying but really want the feel of being in an aircraft. And of course you’ll get more than you bargained for because not only do you get to have a fine meal in an actual plane while being serenaded by the latest hit music, but you also get to walk on the wings of the aircraft, take a selfie while sticking your head out of the Pilot’s cockpit and pose confidently and beautifully at the plane’s turbine.

The Plane in the City is also the perfect venue to propose to your wife-to-be. With this real-life flight simulation, you don’t have to deal with cramped aisles, unpredictable turbulence or crying babies. To make it more interesting, you can propose on the wing of the airplane, and that experience my friend, will be unforgettable.

Located in the heart of the city at Jalan Bukit Bintang, one cannot miss the aircraft while driving past, as it stands out against the city’s many skyscrapers.

Here’s what you can expect once you’ve done your bookings with Plane in the City:

  1. There is a welcome lounge where guests will ‘check-in’ for their flight.
  2. Guests will be given a tour around the plane and this is when you can take pictures/selfies.
  3. A fun-filled safety announcement with a twist will be given by their stewardess.
  4. A three-course menu prepared by Le Meridien, a well-known five-star hotel, will be served on the plane.
  5. Guests will be ushered back into the lounge and they may collect their photographs.
