Tamilselvi Doesn’t Speak Tamil

January 13, 2012 at 3:00 pm

Ada udang, ada garam
Banyak orang, banyak ragam

The Malay proverb above basically means that in this colourful world, there are many types of people with many types of behaviour. There are those who feel proud of their mother tongue and will not hesitate to communicate in it as much as they can. There are also others who, though they are well-versed in their mother tongue, opt to NOT converse in it no matter what the situation is due to their own reasons or beliefs.

Tamilselvi Doesn’t Speak Tamil will be on at Indicine, klpac from 14th to 15th January 2012

Tamilselvi, a Tamil educated Tamil, is one such person. Though she can speak her mother tongue, she absolutely refuses to speak a word of Tamil and wants nothing to do with it! If you know someone who is like Tamilselvi and often wonder why they do it, then come and catch ‘Tamilselvi Doesn’t Speak Tamil‘, a stand-up comedy presented by The Actors Studio. This session is not only about Tamil; it is also about the Malayalams, Telugus, Punjabis, Hindis… about all INDIANS in general. It will reveal SOME secrets about Indians.
